SEMANTIC NETWORKS FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN: A SURVEY

Abstract There have been growing uses of semantic networks in the past decade, such as leveraging large-scale pre-trained graph knowledge databases for various natural language processing (NLP) tasks engineering design research. Therefore, paper provides a survey research that has employed community. The reveals researchers primarily relied on WordNet, ConceptNet, and other common-sense network trained non-engineering data sources to develop methods or tools design. Meanwhile, there are emerging efforts mine large scale technical publication patent construct engineering-contextualized databases, e.g., B-Link TechNet, support NLP On this basis, we recommend future directions construction applications engineering-related practice.
